I can'tbelieve it's March already...

I don't know what I've been doing, but obviously not knitting enough. Let's have a my most recent finished project.

I made Natalie a bunny hat since Easter is nearly here :) Love the ears - all kids need hats with ears.

Unfortunately, the camera didn't last long enough in our photo session for me to manage to get a picture with a good smile... boohoo!

I really have no idea what I'll be knitting next - somehow, even being off work I still manage to have no time for myself, I have no idea what it'll be like once I actually try and balance work and motherhood.

Happy New Year

Well, we had a fairly uneventful New Years Eve. We spent the evening over at my brother and sister-in-laws. Natalie is 5 months old today and still fairly under the weather. We actually took her into a walkin clinic on Saturday, but there is not a whole lot that can be done.

With all the waiting around in the walkin clinic's waiting room I got a good chunk of Alex and Liam's hats done and finished them up last night :) It seems like the finishing part of projects always takes me nearly as long as the actual knitting.

I've now started on TJ's winter hat. He's been starting to get after lately. Since I've taught myself to knit, I haven't made him anything. So I let him look through some patterns recently, found out what fibre he wanted - he choose 100% merino wool, and then vetoed his colour choice - black, and replaced it with gray.

I attempted to knit it on a 20" circular, but scratched that and switched over to DPNs.
This is the pattern I am following:

The Santa Hat

Apparently, I should have bought Natalie a special Christmas sleeper being her first Christmas and all. I didn't- so at 9pm Christmas Eve - I started a mad dash to redeem myself as a mom and knit up a super quick but adorable Santa hat. Who would have though I actually finished it in time for her to wear on Christmas. It took two days for my fingers to recover - but now I'm back to knitting up the 2nd of the camo ear flap hats for Sarah though I still haven't finished weaving in the ends, etc...

It has begun...

Apparently, once you've been off work for 5... almost 6 months people assume you do nothing with your time. These are the people without children - who don't knit. To prove that I still do things with my time, I've decided to document it, heck - It might be nice to look back at all my rantings at a later date.
